OPERATION COOKIE DROP

Operation Cookie Drop 2010

The Yellow Ribbon Support Group has once again joined forces with the Girls Scouts of the Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana Council in OPERATION COOKIE DROP 2010. This partnership will enable us to continue to include Girl Scout cookies in the boxes we send to the troops serving in harms way.

As witnessed by the photo to the left, the Girl Scout cookies bring a touch of home to these brave men and women, who grew up enjoying these wonderful cookies in their homes each spring. We ask each troop leader to complete the Operation Cookie Drop Form and submit it with your troop's donation of cookies. We are trying to keep an accurate record of the troops, leaders, scouts and boxes/cases of cookies from each group.

This year, when the girls go door to door or stand in front of the local grocery store, they will once again ask if people would like to buy a box of cookies for a freedom fighter serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. We are sure the American patriots will once again support their efforts!

We encourage the leaders/units from the various suburbs to utilize the drop spots at various locations* already established. However, please feel free to contact your local Police and/or Fire Departments and ask if your troop could use their facility as a drop off point. If they agree to your request as a drop off point, let us know where and when we can pick up your cookie donations by calling or e-mailing us at 847-359-2429 or rmccoy8627@comcast.net.

NOTE TO ALL TROOPS & LEADERS - COOKIES CAN BE DROPPED OFF FROM FEBRUARY 15TH THROUGH MARCH 31ST AT THE LOCATIONS LISTED BELOW*. GSA cookes will be picked up by the Yellow Ribbon Volunteers only between March 1st and March 31st.

Thanks to everyone for your continued support of our Mission Statement by enabling us to continue to send these care packages to the US military serving overseas.

GOD BLESS AMERICA AND HER DEFENDERS!

Results of Operation Cookie Drop 2009

The Yellow Ribbon Support Group coordinated Operation Cookie Drop 2009 from January 1st - April 30th. During this time, the Brownies and Girl Scout troops from northwest Cook County and southern Lake County donated over 7,000 boxes of cookies to be sent to the U.S. troops serving in harms way.

To download the results and comments of the leaders & scouts on the spread sheet click here. NOTE - Paperwork for ONLY 4200+ boxes of cookies was submitted.

These Brownies and Girl Scouts went door to door, as well as solicited shoppers once again at various local grocery stores, in the bitter cold of another Midwest winter in support of Operation Cookie Drop 2009.

These GSA cookies continue to bring a touch of home to the brave men and women serving overseas, as most of them grew up enjoying Girl Scout cookies in their homes each spring.

The Yellow Ribbon Support Group wants to thank the Ambassadors, Councils Leaders, Brownies and Girl Scouts from both Cook and Lake Counties, who put so much effort into the sale and donation of these cookies. You have brought smiles to the faces of these troops serving overseas. We also want to thank the scouts who wrote notes and included them with the cookies.

If you have any suggestions or questions on Operation Cookie Drop 2009 or would like to join in Operation Cookie Drop 2010, please give us a call at 847-359-2429 or e-mail us at rmccoy8627@comcast.net.

We want to thank our various Police and Fire Departments for serving as cookie "Drop Sites" for the various troops to bring their cases and boxes of cookies. We could not have done it without your cooperation: Palatine Police Department - Lincolnshire Police Department - Schaumburg Fire Department/Station #54.

Thanks to everyone for your continued support of our Mission Statement by enabling us to continue to send these care packages to the US military serving overseas.

GOD BLESS AMERICA AND HER DEFENDERS!
